3D-Printing Introduction
The first lessons is about the History and Introduction to 3D Printing. The lesson introduces the technology for 3D printing and an overview of how 3D printers can be used for manufacturing 3D objects used for prototyping, compared to the traditional prototyping methods. A brief introduction of the basic 3D Printing process is also is provided to give the learner the basic understanding the 3D printing process. The lesson also provides an outline of different 3D printing applications from different industry sectors with specific examples; and the pros and cons of different 3D printing technologies.
The second part of the lesson covers the history of 3D printing technology and the progress in 3D printing technology since its development in the 1980’s. Finally, the lesson includes an introduction on the development of the successive generations of 3D printers over the years, and how the early concepts and ideas for 3D printing technology was developed through to their commercialization and widespread adoption globally.
